A bit over dramatic as a title, perhaps, but, as I saw this discarded in my garden, I realised that when our civilisation dies, and the future archeaologists come to dig up the sites of our homes and places of work...it will be things like this that identify us...not shards of beautiful pottery, or silver clasps from dashing cloaks. But plastic foam mugs. When the world ends...there will be cockroaches...and these things...and the worst thing...the very worst...is that I don't even drink coffee!
Ahem...rant over. Thanks for viewing ;)

*Stands on her recycle soap box and applauds ...brb , coffee....

You made a touchy statement and a sharp shot.

Well done man...my sentiments exactly...but I do nothing to turn the tide...therefore I am as guilty as the rest...

Future Archaelogists?......Landfill, Recycle, Burn, but don't give it to cockroaches to play with!... Love the 'Objet Trouve' fossicking Raven!

A beautiful macro on first !!! Yeah in 2000 years, archeologists gonna have a strange look at our so call "civilisation" : are we in EVOLUTION or in DEVOLUTION? I think both together !!
Mikan
I like your words & that light...Mihai

A thousand years from now archeologists will be digging this stuff up and shaking their heads at our stupidity, wonderful legacy we're leaving our children.... AWESOME statement!!!

say it aint so buddy!! Not the end of coffee.... coffee,,,,,hmmmmmmm, bitter sweet nectar of life (or at least mornings). Great shot, a little un-nerving for a coffee addict.

I absolutely agree, I been taking anthropology classes lately, and thats what they talk about. Have some caffeine man.

Yepp... couldn't agree more with your great statement!!! I'm fond of coffee but I prefer having it in a ceramic mug ;o) Like the light in this image!

great meaning to this piece. I, alas, am among the evil coffee drinkers of the world, but like Moni, drink it from a real mug! You just can't do night shift without it :)

People can be so incomprehensiby stupid. I stopped a guy a few days ago after he'd thrown a cigarette butt onto the ground, as he walked past a bin. I told him he could have waited a second or two and put it in the bin, instead of near it.
He said if i was so worried about it why didn't i pick it up.
This is mentality we're up against. It's just so stupid. Your rant is very justified, hon...

So what if all they find is garbage, we are a mostly garbage civilisation after all. Compare the amount of trash with the amount of art - it's just math :))) I really like this shot, I think it all makes a great composition. The shadows are super :))
