BobbyStahr aka Robert Purves was seduced into computers late in life(age 45) by a free Amiga 1000 that I needed to transcribe music with. When that was done one thing led to another and 18 months later due to a need for speed and Imagine porting over I jumped to a pc. Never looked back happy to say. I play no games, have no business software, just art and music. BIO I use Imagine a lot, Photoshop quite a bit, Vue6I PLE a bit also, and have played a bit with the free ver. of Cinema4D, and am recently enamored of the new TG 3 Free. I also write copious amounts of music in an awesome and inexpensive music writing software called MelodyAssistant, available at http://www.myriad-online.com The hyphen is part of the URL. Highly reccomended to anyone, musician or not. I got into art from sports at an early age when I discovered I was more into cooperation than competition...my mission statement is" Never go straight.....Go Forward...."

Your landscaping is looking better. Is it all .iob-s or do you have image-landscape planes added?

Clae, all itx's and the tree is an actual model in this one...the landscape is an applique of a map i threw together in photoshop, all clouds are the product of the volumetric environment, pale blue global background,i think,it is an oldie but i do remember no maps at all

Thanx for all the comments folks, I really do enjoy creating landscapes, it's the archaic in me, and it's nice to have them appreciated....

Hi Bobby, thanks for the recent comment in my last pic. Yep, I'm still there, but not often. I cannot commit to anything more (baby + jobs : I move to...Dallas, TX), like your Imagine3d.org is nice but what I like in rosity is that it is not 100% imagine, even if i don't like the crap that is posted constantly in rosity, somtimes there is a good post. Back to this picture: great landscape, nicely textured and lighted. Good contrast too. If you allow me a general critic about your pictures that include volumetric: often, they look a little bit washed out, not enough contrasted or shaded. I often have the same problem when I render inside a volumetric box in scanline. To overcome that problem, I (when I used Imagine)often did render in two passes : a raytrace render without the volumtric box/atmosphere (for speed), a second render in scanline with the volumetrics, and superimpose the two in photoshop. Sometimes it works. Well, having the shading of a highly contrasted non-volumetric world sometimes give a better 3d feeeling. Also, It's good that you and a couple of other, are promoting Imagine. It's a good program for it's price. I prefer Lightwave though, even if I miss the volumetrics of imagine, impossible to do in lightwave.

So many of your renders make me ache for a fishing pole and a place to lose it to the big one, looks out the window and a whole lot less concrete, I'm just a simple country gal stuck in the city, on occasion I lose heart, thank you for bringing that back for me with your artwork!
