What works here the best is the composition, very heavily weighted toward the right, the clouds seem to be blowing that way. and the angle of the terrain, is almost creating a "Dutch angle" that would normally be done with the camera position. All that plus the lighting and color scheme, make this a very powerful image!! Great work!
