A little light for an African twilight was modelled in 3dstudio max 5.0. Please feel free to comment on the piece for am just a novice coming up. Suggest areas of defects mowarin

First of all the candle needs a better texture. Some translucency should do the trick, also add a some colour and diffuse variation to it. The wick should be black because it is burning. The flame should be far brighter, and have sharper colours, it is far too soft. You should remove ambient lighting, and use the flame as a lightsource, either through radiosity or putting a light there as. The texturing on the bowl and plane bellow it are ok, but a bit uninteresting. Hope that helps, I dont mean to be rude.
