Description

While a lightkeeper's life was filled with things to do around the clock, the keeper's wife often had little to do beyond normal housekeeping chores. For a couple without children, this could often mean long hours spent alone, far from any towns, with visitors a very infrequent occurrence. As her husband pauses from his daily duties in the tower to watch the passing ship, his new wife strolls along the shoreline, contemplating this new and lonely life she's begun. Modeled after Pigeon Point Lighthouse in Pescadero, California. This was the first lighthouse I ever visited, and was able to climb to the top and see inside the Fresnel lens still in place.
