Description

"Get a load of that thing, Betty" I whispered, elbowing my best friend and pointing out an elderly gentleman standing nearby who was examining this latest piece. "Oooo, if he puts it down, grab it!" she hissed. "You think it's anything?" I asked. She lowered her head until it was almost on my shoulder and said, "I'm tellin' you, I saw something just like that on the Antique Road Show last week and the fella who was the expert... you know, the one with the little mustache and the loud ties?" I shook my head. "Well, anyway, I wish you'd watch that show once in awhile so you could be up on these things like I am... anyway, he said it was a basket handle used by Cleopatra when she would go out to gather the morning eggs" and here she lowered her voice and spoke very slowly for effect, "and... it's... worth... a... fortune!" "Oh, come off it, Betty" I laughed, "as if Cleopatra gathered up eggs! Don't be absurd!" "Not everyday chicken eggs for goodness sake" she countered, "royal eggs!" With an exasperated look she strode over to the gentleman and announced, to my disbelief, "Excuse me sir, that one's mine. You probably didn't hear me but I called dibs on it long before you picked it up." That Betty is a real go-getter... ;)

Hi, Even in Australia, we don't escape that guy, he is on one of our cable channels, and wish he would find a suit that was in style now, not 20 years ago. But I digress, This is a most beautiful image, lovely symmetry, divine colours - what more can I say, simply irresistible.<<<<
