Description

Ok, kind people viewing the Fractal Gallery, I need advice. As I told someone recently, to me, Renderosity has the potential to be a huge learning resource, and that is why I, personally, am here. ANYway... I love this fractal. But I'm not too keen on the lower left yellow corner. I think it looks over exposed. I tried lowering the gamma, lowering the vibrancy, lowering the brightness... they all darkened the rest of the image too much. I tried a couple of post processing options as well, before deciding to post this with NO post processing to the image (only the little frame thingie and sig) and see if anyone has any advice. This was rendered at 1000 x 1000 png, very high quality. Every image does NOT need postprocessing... but this one does. Suggestions? Thanks guys!! Apophysis 2.16/PSP8

suggestions enough :-)) But its for me always so hard to explane it, and always afraid that i hurt people in my use of bad English Hint 1 is set in the Adjust window the Gamma and Brightnis lower There is to much light to make it really interresting and mysterious On another words its to hard of colors Try one of the another colorpallete ,s and use one of the more soft color tones But this of course pure my personal taste idea I think the image need more depht so use the colorpallette glider for the best combination No idea of you can understand this a little bit i try to help but i can explane it very difficult what i really mean Have fun Greetings Arend

I can see what you mean, but I don't use that program. Very nice colors though. Maybe if you darkened it a little in Photoshop or Paintshop Pro? (:

Wish I could help. I see what you mean though, it glares a bit against the softness of the rest of the image. Try PSP or Focal Blade to soften it. A lovely image nonetheless.

I agree with Arend about the gamma and brightness window, it does seem to help me when I want to darken things a bit, or you could try a different gradient all together! And I also agree with Carol, I have taken a few images to PSP and darkened them or even changed the colors completely! All in all though it's a great image, I like it!

In my experience beta 16 seems to do this sometimes. I don't have the technical expertise to explain why. I've had some where changing the color gradient helps and sometimes one place is always too bright no matter what gradient I use. I think this one looks fine though. You can still see of all the details in there and it is a lovely work all around.

Very lovely. I notice in Apop the glaring white seems to dominate sometimes. I would do as Arend suggests..and, if you're still not satisfied, try working with the color curve in whichever image-enhancement program you use. You might try applying the smallest bit of guassian blur to cut the glare a bit. You can always sharpen later, if needed.

Hi Kat! Try adding another triangle on this one. Many times that will darken the colors up and keep the gradient from spreading over too few transforms. Or see if one of the transforms has way more 'weight' than the others and lower it some.

I like this. Have you tried adjusting the brightness, contrast and blur of the gradient in apophysis's gradient window? That might be all that's necessary...;o)

i usually handle that kind of thing with the gradient - you must have a lighter band exactly where it makes this corner too light. (you have the same spot in the corner in the first 'duplicate' in the middle (there, the spot is left, top) and by shifting the gradient a little bit, or changing the gradient itself, you can probably handle it. in some cases, that changes the whole look of the image too uch, and then i change the fractal itself a little bit, until the disturbing spots are gone. this may be a lot of fumbling, however... bit quite apart from that, i find it's a lovely image!!!! and of course, you can also decide that the image is like that and that's that and add a little bit of space to the left so that the whole thing is balanced and that's the end of it... ;-)
