I think you've tried to put too much action into this pic. It's hard to tell what's going on. I know, because you told me, but if I had looked at the picture without your guidance I would have thought that both figures were stumbling backwards and one of them accidentally put a knife in the other's back. You might want to choose a different light setup, too: the light bouncing off the bald guy's head is way too yellow. Also, the guard's right hand is in an odd pose: he should either be clenching the mace, or, if you're intention was to show him dropping the mace in pain and surprise, to have it tumbling backward out of his hand.
