Description

Now a year has passed, since I have started to create this picture. At that time, Liz Birdsong (Mehndi) asked me if i would create the models seen in the oil painting "The Lady of Shallot", as i created some models for her new book. I had a look at this painting and was fascinated. Of course, i know that it is impossible to build an oil painting precisely in 3d. You have to model every tree, every grass in foreground and every wave of the river precisely. Nevertheless, I have tried to approach so closely as possible to the original. So I modelled the boat, stairway steps, cross, the foliage sheets in the water and a lot of other little details. Then I needed more than one month to create the blankets on the boat. I also found no suitable dress for Vicky3. Therefore, I have modified Steve Shanks Classic Dress, Then I started to create a material for the water in the picture and later the athmosph

THIS truly IS a stunning masterpiece - I too, had so much wanted to try a recreation of this brilliant work, by the great John W. Waterhouse - lol* umm.. I don't think i'll attempt it now after seeing yours - it's incredibly stunning! Kudos to you and your amazing patience! Is there any possibility you might be selling this boat and the various models you made for this image? (crosses fingers and PRAYS!)
