Description

An update to my female W.I.P., Character modeled in C4D XL-7 with some borrowed hair from Kozaburo. I'm still not happy with her face shape, but I can't put my finger on what the problem is (maybe her chin is too wide, or something?). Anyway, comments welcome - thanks for watching.

She is very beautiful, so real.!!!

The eyes don't sit in the sockets too well, too far back. It looks like the eye lids don't surround the eye ball. I'm not keen on birds with fat lips, but that's just me.

I think she is amazing, but maybe the mouth is a little to wide. just my 2 cents worth, but she looks great. I think the eyes are fine. keep up the great job. :)

Thanks for the comments... I think some of the problem(s) with the eye-sockets is a visual problem due to the texture I'm using - the eye-balls are pretty much as far forward within the sockets as they can be without popping out through the lids, though the lids could use more work. Anyway, I put an image of the level 0 wire/cage in the forum ( http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12400&Form.ShowMessage=1725597 ) if anyone is interested.

Everybody's a critic, I think it's excellent! The eyes look fine to me, in fact you did a great job on the eyelash transmaps!! Keep renderin Spanki!!!

She's very pretty, tho resembles vicky a bit lol I'd suggest making her nose a bit less flared if she's a caucasian character. Other than that, this is very fine job you did!! This is most impressive. Keep up the amazing work :)

In my opinion, jwdell, far to few people are a critic. It's comments like yours that keep folks from excelling, the eyes are not fine, there is a problem with the way they look however I think it is probably due to some shadows. I had a look at the wireframe and this is definately not Vicky which I commend you for. I do think it looks good though, however, the eyebrows look a bit painted on to me and of course the eye thing. I like the lips.

i think 3d_explorer is right: what's a forum's use, when everybody says everything's fine? the model is good, but some details still need work. i think most people are a little too loosely giving the 'great' or 'excellent' marks -but that's an old discussion

Nice job! I think part of the mouth problem lies in the upper lip. The declivity under the nose that runs down to the lip is a bit too wide. You might try making it narrower and more defined. Just a thought.

Looking good, although there are some issues around the eyes and mouth. I will post more in the forum thread but this is very good work!

maybe its becuz she is looking more out of the corner of her eyes versa directly ahead but the first thing i noticed was the duplicate veins in both eyes. shes very pretty =) keep up the good work, this model looks nice. =)

...the eye brows could do with being much finer I think, currently look too thick and male looking...also try tweak the lips a tad, thinner may help...

great work and a splendide modelling. about your " problem" at my opinion the space betwin her mounth and her chin is too narrow -small-

actually it almost looks like from her nose down through the mouth needs to actually round out more.. like pull out of the face farther..

excellent work over all. As with a few of the serious folks above, I would give a little more attention to the eye area. It seems your iris is great, but the sphere for the eyeball...white and red is a little small. The hairline is well painted, but as was said for the eyeprows, it looks painted on. Though I give this critique, I know I could not do a better job today, so thanks for the inspiration.

Very nice work, reminds me of my struggles with my characters! Not easy! As for your question about the chin, my impression is that she has a wide angular chin and cheekbones, but that's okay, some people are like that. On the other hand, her eyes (eyeball and eyelids) seem small, which I'd expect to see on someone with a more delicate face. Maybe the balance between her eyes and cheekbones and chin could be tweeked?

i like the overall shape of her mouth/lip, Keith, as they seem far more natural looking than any Vic's... the eyes do look a bit strange/indented somehow, but for a WIP, i think you've a wonderful start & base to keep mucking with... and damn, sweeter lighting o'er that of Poser, hey? ;)

I think it depends what you are trying for.If you wanted a human face-well there it is(I've met people who look like this)If you are trying for more in the way of a classical look I think you need to adjust the porportions of the lower face.If I remember right the eye line should be at half the head height with the lower part divided in thirds-the bottom of the nose and the lips at the dividing lines. Also, for me, the area around the corner of the eye and the bridge of the nose is too shallow (maybe it's the lighting) I think you have a great WIP going and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished model. I hope my comments have helped.ww

I skimmed through all these crits because I just knew someone would comment about the eye map, so sorry if I missed it, BUT... the capillaries in the eyes are identical and too large. The blood vessels in your eyes are much smaller and typically differ in shape from left to right. This would add a touch of realism. I agree with 3D, too few people offer honest critiques. Its why I post images. Youve obviously gotten a lot of good feedback already. Great work, keep em comin!
