Description

Ancient castle castled among the mountains of the Val da Osta (Italy). Image elaborated from a magazine. Everything made with VuePro, I have retouched only the gammasat and contrast with XnView to restore that the Jpeg compression has corrupted by the original bmp. Thanks for viewing and comments. Everything is right about this image and I tell you why. First of all the lighting is great, not only in the main area, but also in the back- and foreground. Highlights and shadows have are well mixed in the complete scene, they don't distract the eye. The contrast is spot on; highlights AND shadows have all the details they need, nothing got lost. The way you mixed the plants with the rocks is just extra-ordinary; there are no repeating patterns, there is a good balance between darker and lighter areas and the colors are great. The green colors are very convincing and the fact that you made some colors more brownish or less saturated makes it all even more natural looking. There is a great sense of depth; it starts with the rock formation at the left, then it moves to the larger rock formation to end in hazy background. It made this image extra interesting, when you repeated foreground elements in the background, in this case the structures and trees. The sky is kept simple, so that it doesn't compete with the main subject. The textures are top notch. The whole compostion is really thought out well. You've also created a good sense of height and depth. All this has created a great atmosphere. You definitely need to get as many rankings as possible! This is extremely well executed art in EVERY area. Absolutely excellent!!
