Description

Poser shadows are not my cup of tea, so I decided to use a render of Anda using simple shadows and do the rest myself. Background is a collage with custom lighting to suit the general mood of the image, and hair is the result of a long Wacom scratching session. I would gladly accept constructive criticism/suggestions/pointers. Cheers.

You have a gift, young man, for creativity and you put all your heart and passion into it!! Excellent is all I can give you as a ranking on here, but if I could, I'd give it a ranking of Masterpiece!!! There are no adjectives that can positively make this any more than what it is... Magnificent!!! Beautiful!! v

Amazing. Lovely. Astounding. If i have one criticism it's nothing more than a nitpick really. Her eyes. When posing I've found that the look less "deer in the headlights" if you blink the eyelids a fraction and also roll the eyes up slightly. It would complete her sleepy, contented look. Your shadows are amazing, your background perfect and your pose postwork and lighting quite astounding. Bravo!!

Looks wonderful!! Love the postwork! Only one little thing I noticed...something about her right hand doesn't look right. Her pinky looks a bit out of place, and there is a dark line on her backhand just above the pinky. Not sure if you intended that, or if it was part of the texture. Still an extremely wonderul image!! Right wrist is bent weird, but other than that, I like how you blended the background into the foreground so seamlessly :) Btw, I hate poser shadows too.. takes forever to set it up right. Tho I've noticed they render better when you set the shadowmaps 1024 or higher. Keep up the great work :)

Set the shadow maps to 1024 and shadow strenth to 0.2 (For each light) for softer, more realistic shadows. Or you could continue what you did here, your lighting effects are great, and your hairpainting is AWESOME!!!

I have to say first off, it's a lovely piece of work, absolutely something to be proud of. I especially love how the background came out and the lighting you did. I agree with SkyeWolf about the eyes, and with Avengia about the right wrist, they both seem to be a touch unrealistic. I know what I did when it came to my pictures, was to look at various models in different positions to get the right 'feel' for how a hand should be proped, or how hair should lay, or what position the eyes should be in for certain scenes or the expression you're trying to convey. I'd love to see how much difference it would make with those items corrected. Other then that, I wouldn't change a thing. Absolutely lovely piece of work, and keep on rendering..
