Description
This is the sewing machine that makes the Victorian Velvet sewn merchandise. This machine has the number 1,290,101, which means it was built in 1893. This is well within the Victorian era. The patent date for it is 1887. They cost either $55 or $60 when new.
Everytime I touch this machine, I think to myself, "Mark Twain was alive when this was built!" (Samuel Langhorne Clemens b. 1835 d. 1910) It is awesome to think of . This New Home sewing machine was given to me by my grandmother many years ago. With a new belt replaced recently, this sewing machine will be usable in many decades to come. The coolest part of all, it saves energy! It needs no electricity!
