Very cool car, nice dog too :D the car seems to be "bleached" with too much color, but other then that its excellent

Not sure turning it completely off (ambient light) is always best, turning it way down and assigning it a dark colour can bring a more homogeneous overall look to a render, but as you point out leaving at the default value is not too hot an idea...........;-)

The wall texture as a backdrop is distracting because of the repeating pattern... more anti-aliasing, please. Car model looks great though. :o)
