Description
Here are some more photos from my visit to the Mayan ruins in Costa Maya at Chacchoban. (I've been spelling it wrong) The main image is as we make our way into the jungle and come to the first pyramid--Ediface 24. This one is different from most Mayan pyramids because it's orientation isn't perfectly east-west and thus denotes it as a non-religious structure. It was actually used for astronomy, as recent digs have discovered. The first small photo on the left is just a different view of it, with our guide and tour group standing at it's base. The central photos are of the large Temple 1, seen in Jungle Ruins I and II. It is a neat structure I thought you'd like to see more of. The rightmost photo is also Temple 1, taken from the back upward from the base. It shows how meticulous the construction was. This was a neat tour, I felt very "Indiana Jones." ;^]

Vary foreboding, menacing and prophetic With the vultures in the air. Most excellent presentation.
