Description
"Ellen sat on the hard packed dirt of the river bed. I went through my pack to find the right mix of herbs to cure her Gulegna.
""I guess you know why Sinistra sent me after you," she said, idly prodding the fire with the tip of her sword.
""Yes," I replied as I lay several tightly-bound packets of dry ingredients at her feet. "She's worried I'll start a revolution."
"Ellen nodded and sat silently for a while. "I have to admit, you couldn't have picked a worse time to leave the Temple. Yesterday I caught two orcs lurking in the passageway behind Lucistra's chamber. I took the first one's head off, but the other one fled. I was still tracking him when Sinistra called upon me to find you instead."
""So he escaped?" I asked, starting to get worried. "What do you think he heard?"
""I think...everything," Ellen said, looking grave. "Pretty soon, Mordimus is going to find out Lucistra was banished from the Temple."
"We both knew the ramifications. With Lucistra no longer under her mother's protection, Mordimus would stop at nothing to find her. If the two of them were to unite...
""I guess we just have to hope for the best," I said.
""Hope is all we have left."
"And with that, I set about healing her.
"The next morning, with the scars on Ellen's face already disappearing, we went our separate ways. She said she'd never forget what I had done for her, and vowed never to come looking for me again. But I always wondered; I was always wary. Sinistra, after all, can be a very persuasive woman.
"But," Katerina shrugs. "I guess I don't have to worry about that anymore." She looks at the wall, her eyes distant, remembering.
"What do you mean?" April asks. "What happened to her?"
Katerina turns from the wall back to April. "I think you're the only one who holds the answer to that question. Those are Ellen's clothes you're wearing; and her sword at your side."

Ellen is April's mother?... That was the first thought that came to my mind... Great light/shadow work on the picture, very good mood.
