I tried to make nice rays but i don't like the result!
I'll probably never manage to make good skywork :-(

Nice atmo/lighting - keep on at it; I was poor with skies too (and am still not great!). You could buy the sky/atmo pack for 5 bucks from the Renderosity shop, and study the atmo/lighting settings...

Getting good rays also depends on the clouds that are generated, and you can influence it by changing settings such as Density Shift. Eoin offers good advice about the sky/atmo pack. It doesn't have all the more exotic settings, but it does have a variety you can study. I'm thinking of marketing a pack that will contain some of the more exotic ones. I had a dickens of a time with rays for a very long time. The ones I produce these days are partly a result of other people's generosity and my study of what they had done.
