Description

This is my 100th post here and have been thinking all week what to do for it :o) then changed my mind lol I thought of all the work I have done to get here and the progress I have made from my first post and decided it is time to learn even more this is a type of image I have never done before as I am not good at overall scenes This is a render straight from poser with only her ground shadow added. It is a poser 4 render firefly killed all the shadows. I am posting deliberately like this because I want to know where to take it from here - what am I doing wrong and what am I doing right lol constructive critique welcome as are all tips and advise you can offer - I need help lol Thanks for looking Chris :o) fixed the poke through in the sleeve so far

and the beautie... ;-)
congratulations !! your first 100 !! PARTY!!
and the next 100 starts with a first try. NOT BAD (LOL)
OK... let's see: First the short part.
Composition=OK ; POSE+EXPRESS=OK ; no problem for you. I see nothing wrong... only miss credits ;-)
BUT (the bit "not short" part) ;-)
LIGHTNING is difficult in such an environment; WHY
there is nearly no LIGHT-contrast in the wood, evreything seems to have the same color and brightness(darkness), there are only a few differences; to get needful SHADOWS...nearly impossible as you see
this is with normal day-light; next with SUN-LIGHT
NOW we can highlight something with a sun-beam, AND we can get some SHADOWS, but where is no sunlight, there is the same as discribe above.
SO, try to set a smoooooth SUN-BEAM on her... BETTER to the area where she stands, not to much and think, if the LIGHT can reach her... remember the trees ;-) they produce SHADOWS, but don't cut them ;-)...
Maybee a SUN-BEAM from the left upper side which highlight a bit of the trees and her face and body; some SHADOWS from the tree on her can be helpful to force 3D (HELLO it's digital) AND behind her, the SUN-BEAM highlights also the ground and trees and bushes and there are SHADOWS from her and the trees.
OK, Poser5 !-atmosphere-!... or Props... or postwork
hhmm.. enough for now..
Oh... by the way... there is a big SMILE on my face

Sometimes it's very difficult to get shadows in any scene. Believe me after doing so many in poser 4 some are just impossiable to come up with shadowing in. I know you can add shadows in postwork,so far the technique has alluded me. That said I think this is a lovely scene, she is a kncok out as usual. her pose expression the setting all fantastic.

Looks beautiful m'lady...and just ignore hjoellers for now as he has a crush on you:)My only critique is that the dress looks too solid here, maybe should have a little flow to it or her toes sticking out from under it slightly...looks familiar like this though-werd,wonder why

This looks great Chrislenn! I'm trying to think of what you could do to make it better and I have no idea except maybe for what AB already pointed out, a little bit of movement in her dress would be nice...

Congratulations on your 100th post. This one looks lovely, but I agree, the lighting needs some work. But I'm sorry I can't make any suggestion how to do it, I'm a novice in this global lighting thingy. I usually only work with 3-5 lights at the most. Take care Chris.

Ohhh, congrats on 100 posts, but why does the poor dear look so pensive? Hardly the mood for a party. :D OK...I think you did a really great job. But I agree, everything is too evenly lit for it to be located in the woods. I probably wouldn't have chosen a global light setting for this scene, but it is something that can be fixed in postwork. Shadows can be added in by adding a new layer, setting the brush to a very low opacity setting such as 10-25%, and lightly painting in the shadows. You can also set the brush blend mode to multiply. Also, make sure to add contrasting highlights with the dodge brush, also set to a very low opacity. Oh dear...I have rambled on....LMAO...sorry, hon, I think you did so well, congrats again! :D
