Description

**** OIL ON CANVAS**** The Crowns. Here is portrayed a man who spent every ounce of His energy, His life for something. Not just "something", but "someone"-you and me. He's not just a man either, this Jesus of Nazareth. In His earthly life as accounted in the four gospels, He claimed to be God incarnate(literally:enfleshed)(John 1:1-14,John 10:30). Some say that He was merely a "good" teacher or prophet. But How can someone say that He is "good" if they don't believe what He said about Himself? That would make Him a liar, a lunatic, or exactly who He said He was:Lord. In 1 John 4:10 we are told that Jesus was offered on behalf of our sins, our mistakes, our wrongdoings. The bible lets us know that the only reason people die is because of sin. That means that it was for anyone who had ever done anything wrong(even just one thing) according to His law. Jesus, your creator(john 1:1-3), was beaten and hung on a cross (crucified). He was killed. Yet, He never sinned, never did any wrong. Therefore, why should He have died? He died because "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"(Romans 3:23). He took responsibility, the just punishment, for our wrongdoing to God. That means that we have been reconciled to God through Jesus. And all we have to do is believe. Jesus wore His crown(of thorns) in order that we might receive a crown of eternal life(the crown shown encircling the earth). Then He rose from the dead-God's receipt saying"paid in full." This was for all people, of all genders, and all social backgrounds in every nation and tribe. This was for you. When he was on the cross, you were on His mind. All you have to do is believe that He is who He said He was (John 8:24). I thank anyone who has taken the time to read this. Also, I challenge anyone who is still skeptical to examine the gospels and to find error in Jesus' testimony concerning Himself. I am only seventeen years old, and I am at peace. I have not become close-minded, but examine everything for its relevance, without presupposition, according to logic. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to read this, I'm aware it is lengthy. I say all of this with a love that Christ has put in my heart, not to offend. God loves you enough to die in your(and my) place, that's all I want to say. The invitation is free. May God truly bless you and keep you and give you peace in this Easter season.

Wow, what can I say but awesome work. As good of a witness as I have read or heard. Isn't it nice to be at peace with ones self. I often wonder how many are truly at peace with their self. It is so easy to find that peace as you have given the invation. Job very well done with your art and your witness. :o)

Behold, My Servant whom I have chosen; My Beloved in whom My soul is well-pleased; I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He shall proclaim justice to the Gentiles. He will not quarrel, nor cry out; nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets. A battered reed He will not break off, and a smoldering wick He will not put out, until He leads justice to victory. (Matthew 12: 18-20) Superb artistry and excellent reminder of the source of true peace, Jesus The Son of God!
