Description

Just playing around some more with drawing clothes. I started out with just the background and a naked vicky, an hour later this is what I ended up with and I'm too tired to work on it anymore :) Thanks for looking and for any comments and/or suggestions.

You did a pretty good job on the painting!! I would just suggest that you use the smudge tool to smoothen out the rigid lines in her dress and sash!! Her hair is done very lovely!! I'd say you did a great job on this scene!!

A very good attempt on her dress, i agree with msebonyluv there. But her hair still needs a little work, i'd say. There are a few things to remember when painting hair:

  1. Wind direction: Have her hair going one way for the most part. If you have it blowing in all directions it'll look less realistic.
  2. Roots: Hair has more than just one layer. Start at the back of the head and do that, then move to around the ears then the front tresses and fringe bits.
  3. Repitition: Try to draw each strand individually. I know it's a pain, but it'll drastically reduce the fuzzy effect that using a multi-point brush causes!!!
Fell free to ignore me of course, but that's what i've been told byothers who wanted to help me with my hair painting...

Eve is absolutly right about the hair painting thing. doing singular strands is very important, always work in an image 3 times as big as you intent to post. Aside from that, this is really very good!!! this is just from working for ONE HOUR??? dear god what you could accomplish with 5!!! most of my post work goes into 8 hours+ one just one figure, don't give up!!! You have the skill, it's the patience that us artist need practice in :D CHEERS ~Ali
