I have only used 3 surface layers from this pic does it look like 3 layers? or more i used a really big BMP file and tiled it 2*2 give me a comment to let me know if this is the way to go!

Yes. It looks like 3 layers. For better results you may try to use more layers. What about some sublayers with liitle differences in bump and colour? Go on with this. You are on the right way. ;-)

I can see only three layers, but you did well with the three. I agree: you need to use more layers. The appearance right now is of extreme barrenness, which is rare in nature.
