Description

Another one done in PhotoShop Elements 2. Done as a pencil drawing and then painted using multiply layers. I don't know if I'm totally happy with the way that this piece came out and I'm thinking about repainting it. If anybody has any helpful hints, I would appreciate it. Thanks for viewing.

Very strong, but you might want to play with the foreground colors and shading a little.

Amazing work! I love the giant wings, the colours are beautiful and the shading is excellent, especially on the metal. I always find that's one of the hardest things to get looking good! The only thing that bothers me, is that the dragon looks like it should have two horns. Probably my obession with symmetry, I dunno? Apart from that, which is most likely a personal thing, I think everything looks great.

I like the composition. One of the things that I don't like are the faint black outlines, they give the picture a cut and paste look and don't suit your style of painting. Perhaps play around with the texturing a bit more eg. the dragon head is lying in water but it dosen't glisten, perhaps add stronger hilights in small amounts to make it seem wet. Also the lighting could be improved, eg. because you have light hitting the water there should be light coming from the bottom. On closer inspection there a few inconsitencies with the lighting that when fixed would make this a fantastic piece. Keep up the good work.

Probably not the best one to judge, since this is much better than I could paint, but the DOF seems a little off to me. The dragon's body is fuzzy where it comes out from the head, but the man is perfectly clear. I do think though that this is painted very well indeed...

Good work here. Main figure is cool in a middle, any chance you can smooth a dark lines off a bit of the dragon outline?
