Description

Here's another shot of a brilliantly colored Hibiscus flower from outside my office. I never noticed how there are yellows and oranges in the petals, I always thought they were just red or magenta. Anyway, I was playing around with different ways of burring out the background in Photoshop and came up with this concoction. The selection of the flower could have been a little cleaner, and it's not one of my favorites, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway. It is a nice, colorful way to end the work week. As always, comments are welcome. Olympus C-3030 Zoom.

the effect gives it a nice glow to this lovely one... a gradual blur, by adjusting the opacity of the eraser as you moved closer to the flower may have made a cleaner image :]

Good advice. I created a separate layer for the background so that is why it didn't blend as well. Will try it that way next time. :-) Thanks for the warm comments.

I love the way the stamen? has shadowed/reflected itself on the petal
