Description
1,505 Objects Total So Far (Still Climbing)
375 Lights Total So Far (Definitely going to keep climbing)
8,376,663 Total Polygons So Far (And that number too will keep climbing unfortunately)
The numbers above are the totals, not what you can see in this particular render.
Well here it is at last. Everything was going smoothly until it came to the Anti-aliasing (it took as long to Anti-alias 18% as it took to do the render up to the Anti-aliasing stage...about 3 hours...lol).
Please feel free to comment, and thank you for looking.
Take care.
I downloaded The Aztec model from 3d Cafe about 2 years ago. I think it is still there.

Excellent work. The buildings in the distance are quite excellent. yOur lighting works well and is quite like that one would see in a city scape. The only short coming which is just a matter of personal taste, is tha I would like to have more sky visible to give me additional sense of scale. An excellent render however!

Wow. That is huge. Lots of detail all the way to the back. Light looks terrific. Very well done.

Excellent attention to detail, Gareth! The building on the left pushes your eyes to the back and then you drift around to the front again! The lighting is perfect...just enough to see but not too much to blow out delicate shadows! Thumbs up!!!

Superb! The buildings and lights are excellent, well done!

Amazing, the time and work you put into this was well worth it.

At first i was confused a bit, watching a night-time scene, with lights on the palms coming seemingly out of nowhere (no visible light sources). But this is a fascinating concept, as the name of the image suggests, with a surreal touch, and very well done indeed. I agree with Kenwas about the sky, and i also feel that the closest building on the left could have a bit more detail, as it dominates the composition.

Very cool! The way you put detail to the whole scene, not just what is visible in this pov, makes it much more than a great image.Excellent work

Incredible work! I love the lighting and the textures you used. I feel I could walk the plaza (and wish I could). Beautifully done.

beautiful lighting, and the composition looks wonderful. The textures look great too. I think I used this model in my picture 'lost city'.

This is superb Gareth, your lighting is excellent! I am in agreement with both Ken and Erka, the building closest needs more to focus the eye on, and the picture needs more depth to add the sense of scale your going for. Little things in a fantastic looking image, your hard work is more than paying off!
