Description

This picture was taken in an area that has returned to its natural state. At one time it was a mill pond to provide water power for iron mining operations; later it was made into a reservoir for a municipal water supply. Currently, it is a state park with boating limited to car top boats. That day in September of 2003, the spillway had a strong flow. As I was going downhill to reach the planned shooting location, I realized for the first time that part of the northern shoreline was visible from where I was standing in front of the spillway. Nikon Coolpix 4300, handheld, available light, automatic exposure, 2272x1704. Selective changes to image intensity, crop and resize in Photoshop 7.0. I appreciate each and every comment that is made -- progress depends on criticism and advice as well as praise.

Nice cropping and composition, but I think it would be a bit more interesting if there was something on the lake or far shore to draw the eye, ie. a duck or boat or the like. Otherwise, good photo, exposure was dead-on.

I find this kind composing a bit disturbing. It makes eye folow all these lines and still there's no order. But I gues that's what makes this image special.
