Description


THE KOENIGSHALLE OF LORSCH(GERMANY) The most beautiful example of karolingean architecture is the gatehall of cloister Lorsch(Germany). In contrary the antique philosophy the center arc is not prior, instead all three arcs are the same size. The combination of columns and arcs is a typical roman feature, byzantine influence results in the use of carpetlike colored facing of the walls.
