Okay. Being that this is my very first try at doing this, be kind. At the same time, be honest. I need some feedback from those who do this stuff and I'm willing to take suggestions as long as they are constructive.
I was playing around with tutorials at www.purephotoshop.com and decided to experiment with one of them. This is what I've been playing with for the past two or three days. I think I'm done....I don't care for the way the logo is, but that's fine because it's not staying.
What I want to know is, am I missing anything that is essential to a webdesign package? Specifically for this type.
:)

It's looking darn good Bev. you've done well with the interface, and with the tut's. If you want suggestions on this then i'll give you some.. You buttons, I'd have a inlay/bevel just around the coloured button to give it an appearence that it's sat inside an bevel. Same goes with the screen and the smaller buttons. Also, the edges look a little pixely, Are you using vectors? or just the custom shapes? And are you giving them stroke? There a numerous ways around this, and I know a few good places if they are still around that specialize in interface design tut's. If you want some pointers etc hun gimme a shout and I'll rustle something up for you to explain it better. Looking good though :)

MiKo0 has made some good points. I think all in all this is a fabulous first attempt and with a little guidance you'll be looking like a pro! :D

Good design, but it's looking a bit flat the beveling of the buttons will help, but you also need to do something about the awfully flat grey, try not to use an unsaturated gray, add some subtle texture to it and depending on what kind of surface it is, work on the highlights and shadows. Cheers :)

Very nice, clean but a little chunky for my tastes. I have a heck of a time building generic templets because I am more of a function follows form designer. I would tighten the geometric shapes down and defign your functional spaces more. It's hard to say without knowing what kind of site your headed for with this. Entertainment, Ecommerce or a personal Blog. Tell me more:)

It's very good...I agree about the bevelling suggested by Miko0. Think it would give it a more finished look.
