Description
This oddly disturbing material is a mess of Mix and Blend maps. Both spheres are identical 50-segment geosphere objects. Both were rendered in the same scene using the default lighting, there are no Key or Fill lights. The final material was then applied via a displacement map to one sphere, the geosphere objects themselves were otherwise unmodified. What a difference a texture makes.

I have seen the Blevin's material that Donan is referring to, but this one wasnt taken from tutorial. The end product was more a result of just fiddling with different map channels to see what I could do with them. Numse, if you are looking for a good material tutorial then the above mentioned tutorial by Neil Blevins is an excellent place to begin, I believe it was for the movie Evolution. I cant remember the full name of the site but it shouldnt be to hard to find, just run a search on his name. I appreciate the feedback all.
