Description

This was the result of an idea that popped into my head earlier: Why not combine two renders with different water levels in order to simulate a waterfall? The result is here. I need to work on this technique a bit more, and I'm currently trying to do a four-level combination. Wish me luck, it's going to be interesting because I can't cheat and make the waterfall really far away...

It is nice so far. I read about this technique some time ago in an online-tutorial.
Just keep an eye that 'fixed height above surface is disabled! ;)
The good effect of this waterfall is distracted by the highsloped terrain. Try to reduce the fractal noise or set the fuzzy-factor higher at the surface.

I'd love to know where that tutorial is! It is an excellent image. I figured it would be a lot of work to do this.
