Description

This is my first 'real' attempt at architecture and I think it turned out really well! (With the exception of the grass :P) I spend a long time on it and used various photos and other artists work as inspiration. Other than some minor touching up, borders and text, it was done in Vue D'esprit (although one of the trees is from XFrog) Personally, I think this is one of my best images yet! :-D

I can see you spent alot of time on this. It looks beautiful, and well thought out. You have my vote for the hard work alone if nothing else, but I like it all. Well done and keep up the good work:)

There is something about this piece which makes it seem a little unrealistic. I can't quite figure it out yet, I'm just hoping you (or others) know what I mean. But, realism isn't a bother for me at the moment. So, whats good about it? Well, firstly I like the design idea of it. Surely everyone can imagine about the view of a house, but this is slightly different. You have concentrated the image on a corner of the building, and the way you have brought 2 doors into the scene has a real effect on the entire Image. I like the idea of the stairs going up to the less-visible door, it adds more interest to the picture rather than both doors being exactly the same. I think the textures used are brilliant, I dunno how you make these (or where you find them) but they are ace! The shadows on this piece overlap each other which creates interesting shapes on the walls (etc.) I also like the way you have a small pebble path going to one door, but not to the other - but you can just step across to that one. And the random overgrown bits of grass are good The problem I more dominantly see within this piece is the fact that there is a brick wall behind the door and the windows. This probably ruins it more than anything, but with more good points than bad, this is overall an excellent ranking

Quote - [The problem I more dominantly see within this piece is the fact that there is a brick wall behind the door and the windows.] I know. This was just a test, but I forgot to remove it afterwards. I've re-rendered it without the brick wall at a higher setting. So hopefully, the materials will look a bit more realistic now, and not so grainy. Thanks for the comments though! Same goes for anyobdy else who commented!
