Description

Here is a view of the Splitrock Reservoir from the downstream side. Even with the dam, it is an area of raw natural beauty and the fury of nature. The left hand part of the spillway gave me "A Peek at the Other Shore", and behind me (not shown) is the blast furnace that is seen in both "Fire, Water Subdue Iron v.2" and "Fire, Water Subdue Iron" -- all of which are in my Renderosity Gallery. Because the dam was constructed much later than the blast furnaces, the setting has gone through many changes in the time this this area began to produce iron for the colonies through the present. The image was recorded by a Nikon Coolpix 4300, tripod mounted, automatic exposure, 2272x1704 pixels, high image quality. The only postwork was to crop and resize in Photoshop 7. Thank you very much for viewing. I appreciate each and every comment that is made -- progress depends on criticism and advice as well as praise.

Great shot! Looks like the structure has been around for along time. The water almost looks like a sheet of paper coming over the dam :D

Great one! Cubism vs. natural expresionism! Excellent shot and very nice composition.

Theres a nice change in "feel" with the smooth dropping water, and then the crash of hard edges and liquid flying around. Like it!
