Description
This is a (mostly) shameless plug for my new Photoshop actions. I took a Poser render, ran two different black & white actions, then colored the image to achieve an anime look. I think it's a step or two above the Poser Sketch presets. ;-)
This shows Ink 2A set as the top layer, Multiply blend. I ran Ink 4 for highlights and shadows. I selected the white area of Ink 4, copied it to a new layer and set that to Color Dodge. I selected a darker grey in Ink 4, copied that to a new layer, and set that to Color Burn. After that, I set a few layers underneath and proceeded to color within the lines.
Trick - stacking the layers properly will make it easier to color. For example, the skin layer is below the hair layer. Any places where the skin strayed into the hair was covered by the hair layer. This also allowed me to change the skin color around without messing up her hair. Because I set the outline (Ink 2A) to Multiply, I don't have to worry about covering the ink outlines, either.
I hope you enjoy the image!
