Description

Sometimes you just have to follow the creative muse when it strikes, even when it leads you into directions you'd normally not visit. The canvas is 680 x 1020. The paint is digital. I hope these steps are clear and you can find something helpful in them. The process could readily be followed by starting with a photograph or a painted image; 3D is not needed. The PictureMan Art Gallery plugin is made by Stoik (more info here); the same effect could be achieved with other filters such as those that promise "pencil effects" or "edge enhance" - depending on what you've got. Play with them and see what they do. You can view a larger version of the final image at this link.

I just wonder how your handling of color is so perfect! My fave steps are 3 and 5 -- I will never learn to handle color so magnificently!

Amazing again, Varian! As if it were possible for the est of us, LOL! But you make it look like a piece of cake,,,;.) Just few steps, and there we have a master piece... You are soooo skilled with these different ways to make pictures. I'm so amazed again... Your ability to SEE the lights and colors, and shapes - and use your puter to help you making them is something that is unreachable for mst of us:-) -- Thanks for these steps! I really try to learn with them, Varian!

This is just great for me to see it step-by-step. I'm hoping to start doing some more work in 2-D (only posted a couple so far). I'm still trying to learn the software...have a ways to go. This is a fantastic reference!!! Thanks!
