Description
On the spur of the moment, I decided I would take my daughter to the Isle of Arran, my wife was on nightshift and we would be out her way for the day.
It was a beautiful day, but very hot -I forgot to bring the sun-tan lotion for her.
We got onto the ferry without a hitch, half way across she kicked her shoe into the water (they were brand new).
I also forgot to bring her drinking cup, so my list of things we needed to buy when we got off the ferry started to grow.
When we got off the ferry I discovered I'd left my walking pole on the ship (It was almost new).
I didn't leave her sun hat on the ferry - I left it in the car parked on the mainland, it was starting to become an expensive day out.
I panicked in the shoe shop because I couldn't find my card to pay for her new shoes, so I scooped her up and ran back to harbour searching frantically everywhere we'd been... nothing, it was in an inside jacket pocket.
Finally we got to the beach with new shoes, new hat, suncream water bottle etc. I bought her a chocolate Ice cream.... and, you got it, no wet wipes, imagine the mess.
The last straw was loosing my parking ticket and having to pay extra to get out.
When we got home, her Mum asked her if she had had a good time?
"Daddy remembered his camera" she said.
It made it all worthwhile!

I'm more inclined to panic and brainstorm a lot beforehand, count everything 3x and prepare like the boy scouts... then take the day as it comes. Inevitably something goes wrong anyway...but can you blame me?. Great picture aangus she's the pride of the castle and the new shoes are braw.

Maybe you should make a check list! Ha ha only kidding. I do things like that all the time. If everything went to plan life would be boring. Looks like a lovely place, I woild like to go to. Looks like she is having fun with the castles.
