Odd thing is...the silos(?) seem to act as a counterwieght to the linear, perspective view ie... the tracks, road, sign, drainage ditch and telephone lines. Tell Michelle, good call on the BW

Yeah, B&W seems to age the whole thing; quite nice. I'm wondering what sepia would look like.

B&W is excellent. We find these town rail crossings and scenery everywhere in the world. (This is a unique pic though). Makes me think of taking holidays! sigh

This is good 2, B%W always enhances the feel, the interpretation of the viewer. It gives the shot a extra dark feel ;)

....it has it's own flavour -- but I much prefer the colour version which put you right there! ...to me it's no contest...also the tones in this one don't have sufficient range.

Love the absence of colors, it emphasises the details. Ever thought of correcting tones by mixing them unbalanced in Photoshop? It causes a comparable effect when using for example a yellowfilter with B&W film.

The B/W underlines the dark feeling to this shot. Gorgeous work!

Love it - but also agree with rlbrett that sepia might be a good idea as well...

I don't know...sometimes color is better to bring the effect closer to how you felt abt the scene. I prefer the color version..maybe punching up the contrast would make it more appealing in B/W for me.

Great image. B&W really looks great here, but I would have used some toning. Anyways great image.
