Description

I'd like to share a poem with you. I wrote this some years ago for someone very close to me. It just seems to go with this image and the title. It reflects my feelings about drugs. Thanks for viewing, and any comments, Thelma. You could have been somebody, you were really doing well. Then you started doing drugs, and you slipped down into hell. You could have been somebody, you could have been a star. But you kept on using drugs, and now look where you are. You had to sleep on dirty streets, you had nowhere to live. You could have gone right to the top, you had so much to give. You could have been somebody, but drugs went to your head. You could have lived the good life, but now you're only....dead.

Hi Thelma, Love your poem , so sad that so many lives end up like this one. And your piece today, looks like a crocheted blanket as though you wanted to wrap that person up in it and keep them warm and close. A beautiful epitaph from you to some one who is still in your heart

Lissa lei said it so succinctly, there are some things in life with an unacceptable price in the "fine print".

The poem is very thought provoking Thelma and gives this image more meaning. I agree with Fractalneil most people never read the fine print do they? An excellent image as always

Just love how the pattern is repeated over 'n' over again within the whole. Lovely colors as usual, and the poem=excellent! (:

Here here. Beautifully put Thelma, gives the image such meaning, although even without the sad poem it is a stunning Apo.

Wonderful thought provoking poem, but yes very sad. Thank you for sharing that with us. The fractal is very beautiful with such wonderful textures. The coloring is much too pleasant to match the somber mood of the poem though. Both are wonderful pieces! Good work Thelma!

Lovely presentation, my twins had baby blankets that this immediately made me think of, hand knitted ones.

The poem is, unfortunately, too real. The flame is top-notch, thelma..a beautiful hammock for a lobster. :)

Fantastic image, Thelma! Love the colors and the flame density! The poem is sad, but all too true; especially for me. If not for the Grace of God and the most loving woman in the world ( Vicky ) that poem could have been about me!

Thelma .... first, EXCELLENT image! .... I guess most of us 'experiment' with one thing or another at some point in life .... most, fortunately, only do 'experiment' .... sad for your loss .... maybe that 'loss' was to 'show' others?

I see a crocheted blanket too, and can even feel it. (Good writing, too.)
