Description
In 2001, I lost one of the best paying full-time jobs I ever had. Soon after my wife lost the best job she ever had. That same year My favorite uncle, on my fathers side, died. Later that year our beloved dog Some'n died. 2001 SUCKED.
2002-2003 We both worked crappy jobs unrelated to our college degrees, just to pay the bills. We did whatever to scrape by.
April 23rd 2004, I had a big interview with US Bank, trying to get back into my field doing interface design. The interview went really well.
April 28th 2004, I got the call, I GOT THE JOB!!!!
I know many people who have been in the same situation, some still are. To those people I say, NEVER give up!! I feel blessed that we are going to have enough money now to rebuild our retirement funds, and maybe even, dare I say? Go on a vacation?? (We have not been anywhere for 10 years)
Thanks to all here who have been so supportive of my work, during these last of the dark days, it has been a powerful source of energy for me! You're all the greatest!!!

That is a beautiful scene. a fine photo that typifies the title..but the story is one I relate to...sometime my career has bottomed out for what seems like years, then just when it seems like the bad streak will never end--here comes prosperity again..yes this post is a great one for the inspiration to hang in there ! ultra fine

Eric, first of all, congratulations on your new job. I think this photo says it all when the light shines through some dark times. I know it doesn't make you feel any better to know that 2001 had to have been one of the worst years of my entire life for similar reasons as yours. Thank God we both came through it and thanks for sharing your story! It's always good to know you're not alone out there!!!

That is a gorgeous photo! Congratulations on your job!! Awesome to hear! I had a pretty crappy 2001, too; mine started in October of 2000 and went straight through. (L--O--N--G story) I hope your wife is doing better with her career as well. It's got to feel good to have things straightened out and headed in the right direction again. I'd have a drink with you, but I'm still on anti-depressants. LOL! :-D

Belated congratulations to you on your upswing. 2001 seemed to be a rotten time for many people fora variety of reasons. It's good to know things do change for the better.
