Always loved the name. Any lake in america is pretty suspect. I live in detroit, work once a week in chicago, lake and cook counties. Some pretty amazing polution there, as well. Was the most polluted region in America until G.W. Bush became governor of Texas. In less than a year Chicago's steel harbor wasn't nearly so toxic as Texas. Now, the entire country is going that route. Mercury levels in the great lakes region are rising incredibly fast. 20 percent of the world's fresh water, why bother protecting it?

Lakes in Montana are pure :) But your sunset is fantastic! Nice

How sad. It is a very beautiful area. I was just studying up on mercury poisoning last week, and what it does to people. It is so horrible.

Yes I guess it is both beautifil and ironic, however things are seldome what they seem, many rivers here no longer have salmon for the same reason. Whatever way you look at it this is a lovely image with wonderful colours and contrast.

Hard to believe...Fabulous photo tho, the colors are beautiful

Beautiful sunset...it's inevitable things like this are going to happen, be it man's fault or the changes in global climate! Nature will, one day, just shrug us off as a nuisance & start over anew, just as it has done before!!! Peace!!!! :)

Weird how even polluted areas still can show such a beauty! Nevertheless it's a beautiful shot and once again emphasizing the need for protection!
