Description
Made for the Blobs'R'Us Challenge at imagine3d.org. Of course, if you go look at the challenge entry you won't find it there -- a day (or two) late and a dollar short as usual, but enjoy it here anyway.
The title works on two levels: No foliage on the tree, and no shadows. I'm not happy about that, but most of the test renders were in raytrace mode, then in the stage editor everything suddenly slowed to a C-R-A-W-L. I didn't want to wait til next week to post.

OOOOOOH, now that's a nice tree, and i can see why it choked you machine. very creative. Is it true you're still running ver.1?...if so I'm amazed you got it rendered and no, i didn't know Imagine did that as I only started messing with blobs once I got 2.0+.(divide the meshing into groups upon meshing a huge blob object.well I'd have given a good mark on this so thanx for showing it here. You should have let us rate it here.I did vote here...LOL

This is a very nice tree object, I wish you would have made it in in time :-( Did it take so long with it meshed to? I find tracing a blob object takes a long time, but if you mesh it and then trace it its a lot faster.

I'm excited! I was thinking of trying to make roots in blobs (ala Harry Potter woods), and you just proved how great they would be! Great texture on the tree! I agree with Dhurgan - blobs mesh easily (thanks to Bobby for that tip) and then we have objects more familiar and easier to manipulate! Perhaps you should up this to the contest anyway! The roots are really nice!
