Description

Canon 10D + Sigma 28-300mm (at 300mm) ISO 400 f5.6 1/1000 Broken Although I didn't concentrate on it this visit, there are many examples of damage in the cemetery. Whether down to the erosive effects of nature, or the more violent attention of vandals, many grave markers lay damaged. One of the weakest images from a technical point of view, but I thought it important to include it...sometimes ugly, broken things are overlooked. Thanks for viewing.

Great! And unholy. Here too, a lot of gravestones are damaged. But, I'm not sure, I would blame the wind, often blowing very strong in Vienna. Well seen and shot. Great mood.

There are things that are breakable, but can't be broken...

Even gravestones aren't built for eternity - seems as if this cross has been quite fragile. Mustn't have been an act of aggression, stones become weak, too. At any rate, it's a great still life, now.

3 squared base stones, upside a octogonal and then the column : a circle and this breaked cross, and the color of the stone is astoundingly clear. a great compo and centring.

I found the same thing on my tour of the local cemetery.. angel heads whacked off and crosses busted. What is it.. desecration?, angry about the will? I took a photo too and sadly called it 'the cross that needed to be closer to the ground'

It's a sad world we live in when these jerks have nothing better to do than go to their nearest cemetary and deface the property and the dignity of the souls that reside there. This is a great image, another in this series that seems to show a great deal of strength and a weakness, simultaneously. This piece of stone, that was built to be there for eternity, has crumbled and fallen over time... and nothing is forever...

I won't even start about vandalism... and my ideas about what to do with the vandals... A piece of hard realism in this rather dreamy series. Well done.
