Description
The male Arbor Bird builds intricate and detailed arbors during mating season in order to attract a female. They use everything and anything they can find to decorate their arbors, and have been known to utilize colorful bits of yarn, bottle caps, buttons, candy wrappers and even coins.
The female Arbor Bird investigates each arbor very carefully... sometimes re-arranging the decor to her liking... while the males watch apprehensively. In choosing her favourite arbor, she also chooses the creator as her mate for the season.
We don't have Arbor Birds in Canada (pity!) but I once watched a National Geographic special on these wonderful creatures and have never forgotten it.
