BobbyStahr aka Robert Purves was seduced into computers late in life(age 45) by a free Amiga 1000 that I needed to transcribe music with. When that was done one thing led to another and 18 months later due to a need for speed and Imagine porting over I jumped to a pc. Never looked back happy to say. I play no games, have no business software, just art and music. BIO I use Imagine a lot, Photoshop quite a bit, Vue6I PLE a bit also, and have played a bit with the free ver. of Cinema4D, and am recently enamored of the new TG 3 Free. I also write copious amounts of music in an awesome and inexpensive music writing software called MelodyAssistant, available at http://www.myriad-online.com The hyphen is part of the URL. Highly reccomended to anyone,musician or not. I got into art from sports at an early age when I discovered I was more into cooperation than competition...my mission statement is" Never go straight.....Go Forward...."

I would like some info on how you "blobbed" this object :-) did you extrude or group by path or somethign to get the smoth transition or did you manually place each sphere? What blob and meshstrengths did you use? Its a great object, I could make one in organica, but it looks like a lot of work with blobsspheres. :-)

Building the BlobbyStahrCar** 1. First i made the left side fenders. 2. Copy,Paste and mirror for right side. 3. Construct the body, about 1o blobs i think. 4.Add an axis and group all to open axis. 5.build some neg blobs[-1 is what I used] to flatten ares that need it. 6. Once I got it where I wanted it I saved the blobs and then used the Objecet>mesh blobs command. 7. Once i figured out what hole openings were needed[wheelwells,lights,grill and interior, I made shapes[4 closed cylinders for wh wells,2 smaller ones for the lights,and an oval for the grill area,with a smoothed box for the interior]I positioned these where I wanted and then sliced all together at once. 8. Once I'd deleted all the un-needed parts I took each part in turn, and in face mode ,selected all faces and gave a descriptive name,ie: R FR WHEEL WELL, for all parts. This way when all joined together you have access to all faces,edges,points, boundaries etc from the pick sub group command for later tweaking and texturing. 9.the tyres are made from 24 spheres positiong, using a disc for a guide, into a torus shape and then, usin an open axis grouped them into a trye,meshed and made a subgroupe for tread. 10.Mag Wheel is made using a scaled ver.of the tyre for the rim[I had saved the blob tyre before meshing]and a central blob wit smaller ones for the radiating arms, added a flattener[-1 strength]and saved then meshed.Copied pasted, and mirrored where necessary for the 4 wheels. 11. the seats were made from 25 small blobs each section[seat and back]then meshed and sub grouped tho i didn't use them for texturing. 12.the dash was extruded from a line created by copying and pasting the body and deleteing all points but the 'window/dash line of the interior which was easy to access due to earlier subgrouping, then adding faces to the outline produced and extruding, and finally positioning just below the top of the body. 13. Don't remember how I made the window and frame tho...LOL...must be getting old. That's about it.If there's demand I could concievably do an illustrated tute within the next year,heh heh heh, kidding, it would be done sooner. enjoy life
