Description

Well... This image originally started life as a fire test, but somehow grew into this. The sea took a surprising amount of time to render (9h 56min) but was worth it I think. I have also for the first time (I think) used people in my render (two to be exact). They are the default boy and man in poser4 in two default running positions (just because I did not want to give the impression that anyone died in the fire). Hope you like it, and I would be interested to hear your opinions on the fire, as it was the reason I made this scene. Take care Man and Boy Poser Houses Come with Vue4 Pro Trees, Textures and everything else by me.

Brilliant smoke. And where is a brilliant smoke there must be a brilliant fire too. Ah, now i see it! Fantastic. Do i believe the "no postwork"? Yes i do, even when i can't imagine how you have done that. Excellent study, you see me very impressed!

I played around with fire for a long time - never got such a realistic effect. Excellent, Gareth!

Well opinions about the fire were called for right? Amazing, plain and simple. I love the pic, I think its great, but my eye keeps getting drawn to the fire for several reasons... Firstly like Walther I am at a complete loss as to how you have created it. Secondly it has a 'real' fire quality to it thats hard to explain what i mean (but i will try).. When fire burns it sticks to certain areas and kinda bunches up, it also licks around edges of things, and tapers off and breaks up at the ends where its hottest. Your fire has all of that, and I cant remeber the last time I was so impressed by a fires 'realism' An absolutely stunning result Gareth, an experiment that paid off brilliantly!

First of all Id like to thank you all for your comments. I am glad you liked it. This image was intended (like I said above) to be a test on fire, but a distance shot like you see here. However, I am currently working on a close up shot using Eric Smits Temple. I dont think Ill be turning this render into a scene. It is just the fire and smoke( which is being a pain in the @ as it is close up). You think you were impressed with the fire this time Kutter...lol The next render will blow your mind, but Ill let you tell me that...lol. Thank you once again everyone, for your kind words and the motivational push you all give me to produce something better the next time round. Take care:)

Not too sure about the morality of burning down the home of those poor Poser people, just so you could do a fire test Gareth, lol. Its a splendid job, and does look realistic, the smoke and flames are a great success, the overall image is great too, very creative work. Dave

Well the fire looks awesome, as do the splashes on the rocks, as does the whole image. One of your best I think!

One really could take that fire for a photo! It's absolutely fantastic. I also like the shimmering, sparkling water in the foreground that is a nice contrast to the heat of the fire.
