Description
I wanted to capture a kind of ancient, eerie sprawling emptiness, with an out of place modern structure in the middle: where did the people go? Who occupies the alien building? Oooooooo-eeeeee-oooo.

Whoa! Excellent of ancient eerie sprawlingness. I agree ... you can definently hear the oooooooo-eeeeeeee-oooooooo sound as you wonder where did all the people go? Who occupies the alien building? Can they be classified as ruins? . . .

Nice image! I look at that city and I think "Ah, they used a graphic applied to a terrain!" That wouldn't by so obvious to someone who wasn't a Bryce user themselves, but I'd like to see you do some additions to make it look more city-like. Some of the domes and tiered areas are nice, I'd move those into the foreground. You could also take a terrain, invert it, and use it to subtract chunks out of the buildings in the forground. That would make it look more actually decaded, in addition to the rusty colors.

Hey! Thanks for the great suggestion, I never thought of subtracting buildings from other buildings (or the ground). That would give it more variation of depth, plus a "ruinous excavation' quality.
