Description
This is the WW2 plane that I'm currently working on. It's one of the most famous and successful dive bomber that's ever been produced.

Looking great so far. I thought the Stuka was the most succesful bomber... I need to read more about WW2 aircraft, hehe.

what are you modeling it for - just for having the 3D model and render it in some other 3D package or for building and flying a model it? i modeled a few planes in Rhino and Solid Edge for the purpose of flying them - models that is. Maybe I should post some models here. but your model looks good so far. Keep up the work!

No, the Dauntless was the most successful Allied dive bomber, sinking 4 Japanese fleet carriers during the Battle of Midway, changing the course of the war in the Pacific. The SBD is also credited with sinking more Japanese shipping than any other aircraft, even surpassing its replacement, the Curtiss SB2C Helldiver. The Dauntless' opposite number, the Aichi D3A Type 99 (code named "Val"), was by far the best Axis dive bomber. The Stuka had some early successes, but it was obsolescent by 1940 and was shot down in droves during the Battle of Britain. Propaganda and revisionist history made the Stuka a better aircraft than it actually was.
