The problem is is that the background and R2D2 don't look realistic enough to make the presence of the person believable. You should work on the lighting and then perhaps it would be more effective, and convincinv, since you have matched the shadows well, even though there is no discernible lightsource.

Nice, I really must finish my R2 one of these days, along with my 50 or so other unfinished projects.

Nice work dude! Punmaster may be right though about the lighting. Do you have a global illumination light setup you could use? You know Brazil or something, that would really help. All in all, a great piece.
