Description
"Some salmon tonight m'lord. The Queen and her Lady in Waiting will be down at sunset, to greet the new guardsman. And...uh...well, The Lady Mercy said something about "discovering" more of 'im." Lady WyndWalker laughs highly, preparing to set the ale about the table, when the sound of hooves approaches outside, halts, and in seconds, the huge oak door of the hall entrance is thrown open, casting a low gray light within.
Four men, dressed in blood red, and veiled black, storm in through the door, swords drawn, halting just beyond the table where Melbourne and the man in royal are seated. One, leading the others, his face already bent in a rage unknown, halts the group, and points towards Bowen with his rapier.
"You! You are under arrest! Murder, mayhem, and interfering in the lawful duties of the Bishop's Guard. You...will come with us now, or die where you sit!"
Arthur nudges Bowen carefully, and nods at the blond guardsman, whispering very low.
"Montaque. T'was his brother in that three you killed. And he is not amused."
Bowen and Arthur both stand, moving around the table to confront the intruders, as the blondhaired henchman waves his sword threateningly.
"Your whore queen and that tart she confides in cannot save you! The bishop and I will have our justice! In here, or upon his gallows!" His face, contorts in a rage and sneer as he speaks of the queen, rippling his features venomously, his anger uncontrolled.
Instantly, before anyone can move, or speak, like the whisper of a wraith, the man in purple is standing, his sword drawn, blocking the path to Bowen and Arthur. Melbourne raises one hand, points towards Bowen, shakes his head, and simply continues sipping his ale, as Lady Wynd backs away from the table, eyes wide in disbelief, her mind racing for a way to reach the queen with the news of this treachery. Quiet rage fills the voice of the swordsman, facing the four.
"Lackey! To speak of the queen is such a way is treason! She is the highest of ladies in honor and compassion! And here in her own house! Who's gallows will "you" swing on this night?! Varlet! Scoundrel! Enguarde!"
Bowen, intending to join the man in purple, starts to pull his rapier, but Arthur reaches for his hand, stopping him from drawing, and sips his ale, casually, as the clash of steel fills the room.
"Nay Lad. Aye, they come for you, but now 'tis a greater transgression. To Duncan there especially. The queen herself risked her own life to save him and his horse from a wolfpack. She bears her own scars this day from the encounter. Nay, do not interfere."
He laughs a quiet laugh, nods towards the man in purple, then glances back at at the intruders.
"Besides, there's only 4 of them."

Thank you all. This was great fun to do, and these boys will be back. LOL! . Mondo, I keep each item in it's original form, which most times includes a ReadMe, with the author noted. When I add a prop, I keep a Notepad of what is in the scene as I go. I feel that each prop is a piece of art in itself, from fancy clothes, right down to a simple stool. So I try to credit each item, because the artist that created them has as much a part in the scene as I do. It is, after all, their skill and creations that makes the scene work. =)

That is great, Vethril! Very attractive and romantic. :-) The table and stools are by Zygote, from a couple of years back. I noticed the BBay Club had some table and stools that fit better with my game, that you might be interested in as well! http://www.kamilche.com/images/table.jpg to see a picture of them. Right now they're just a club item, but I bet they'll hit the 'for sale' section soon.

Thanks sis, I need some old style stuff like that for future images of Duncan and Co. LOL! These are such fun scenes, and getting the right kind of props is what makes them work. Thankee sis. =P
