Description

Created in UF3, with USM and noise added in Photoshop. I'm not entirely convinced about this one myself, but a very good friend likes it and wants me to post it, so here it is... Thanks for the comments on "Purple". Comments and criticism of all kinds are appreciated.

Reminds me of the golden age of skyscraper building. People racing to see who can build the tallest and the fastest. Also has Sydney opera house in there even though thats not a skyscraper. Excellent image.

I like it. It definitely has an urban or maybe an industrial feel to it. Nice work.

Great cityscape, abstract and futuristic, a nightmare scenario of great beauty and form. Most impressive work!

Wonderful lighting and fabulous background, Simon :) I might have cropped it a bit higher, to eliminate the darkest area at the bottom, but still keeping the perspective.

I do like it although to me it suggests an apocalyptic cityscape. Its the dust in the air and the disintegration of the buildings...

wonderful city scape and I agree with Panny, crop the too dark, nothing saying, bottom and make the picture less high, it will give a sence of wideangle and create more interest. Hold on to that friend, he or she has a wonderful eye...

Simon, I am enjoying the atmosphere of this piece immensley particularly the beam of light and the unusual texture that seems to lift from the lighting. The contrasting sky accents with its smoothness and the colors are superb.. nice treat..

Simon, I agree with Panny, you could stand to loose some of the negative space at the bottom. I also agree that the wider image would give more of a sweeping feel. Other than that, you have a very impressive abstract cityscape.

Quite cool! You could try playing around with different croppings as suggested, but it works nicely for me as-is..

Different for you, but very pleasing...I like the suggestion of a skyline, and the coloring.

Simon, this is not your usual style, but it is excellent, just the same. As to the dark area at the bottom, don't crop it, this looks like a city rising from darkness - mysterious and intriguing :)

This is an amazing impression of a city at sunset! I think your unease is in the 'impression', since you seem to like to work in realism. This is perfect as it is.
