Thanks all ! :) To my amazement she did do much to scare me off, she just sat there. Later she stood up, hissed at me and sat right down again... :) Then i left them alone to not further disturb them. All this time the little babies were just playing around, not having a care in the world. You can imagine i had a great 5 minutes ! :))

What a wonderful photo and a wonderful opportunity! We had geese when I was a child. They are better watchdogs than dogs! I would imagine this swan would get very protective of those lovely little ones.
