Description

Someone long ago sent me a photo of this museum piece. I fell in love with it, and decided to make a 3d version. I used the original image to form the headboard and posts, converting the image parts to black and white and using the "convert to object" function in Imagine. The post half was then spun 360. I used the original images as the maps. The top is a simple box, flared at the top. While only the posts have true detail, I think it was a fast and easy way to recreate this beauty! Nothing special about the quickrender... just a way to show what can be done (-:

It's great! I wouldn't know where to start doing something like that - excellent job!

Cool bed, Great modelling, using more than one approach to building your parts is the real secret to efficient modelling in Imagine.Did you also use the images for bump maps?

Thanks, one and all! It really is quite simple in Impulses Imagine 3d program. The time was spent in extracting the image parts from a single photograph. Special thanks to Colas for identifying the bed's original ownership!

Amazing how such delicacy of construction can be simultaneously so solid ... I can't comment on the technicalities - but I do admire the skill and the finished picture.

This may be a quicky but it successfully conveys that feeling of antiquity. Well done. :)
